Shots from 2 new lens

On the left, is the Chinon 55mm F1.4 cost $130 (2nd hand)
On the right, is the Vivitar Series 1 105mm F2.5 Macro cost $400 (2nd hand)
Both lens are manual focus

First hands-on review: The image quality of the Chinon F1.4 is quite inconsistent. At times, the quality could be really sharp, but at times it could be very soft. As Shake reduction is not supported for this lens, it could be the reasons for some inconsistent shots. Bokeh is amazing, I have did some test shots which I will post in part 2. Image quality improves greatly after F2.8. However, this lens is difficult to attach and remove due to the screw mount adapter, had a hard time figuring out how to fix it, and got some dust into my sensor =( .

The Vivitar 105mm, I have heard alot of reviews on this lens saying that it is one of the best, if not the best macro lens ever made. In my humble opinion, this is indeed an amazing lens producing excellent image quality. I did my first shot on macro photography today, and am quite pleased with the result. Although image is not tact sharp, due to my inexperience in exposure control and stability control, but you can still make out the details of the insect (will be shown in part2)

Part 2 - The shots on Chinon 55mm

As you can see, bokeh looks pretty cool at F1.4, 1/25 ISO 200

F1.4, 1/1600 ISO 200

Love the naturally occuring bokeh effect this lens produce, the twirling bokeh is produced by the lens without photoshop. F1.4 1/800 ISO200.

Low light performance in ISO800. I cant remembeer the exif date, but it should be at F1.4-F2

Lovely bokeh in daylight

Below are shots using Vivitar 105mm

F2.4 1/320 ISO 800

F8 1/200 ISO200

F2.4 1/200 ISO200

50% cropped.
F2.4 1/80 ISO200, I have no idea how my camera stopped it down to 2.4 l0ls

Cropped as well. Its a really tiny bee in reality, kudos to the lens.
F8 1/30 ISO800
